Sex Trafficking
The recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, obtaining, patronizing, soliciting or advertising of a person for the purpose of a commercial sex act, in which the commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud, or coercion or in which the person induced to perform such act has not attained 18 years of age.
Labor Trafficking
The recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision, or obtaining of a person for labor or services by force, fraud, or coercion for the purpose of subjection to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage, or slavery.
Red Flags
- They want to stop participating in selling or trading sex but feel scared or unable to leave.
- They disclose they were pressured into selling sex.
- They live where they work or are transported by guards between home and workplace.
- They have a pimp or manager in the sex trade.
- They don't have their own documentation.
- They do not keep their own money or earnings.
- They avoid eye contact or allow someone else to speak for them.
- They are unable to leave their job due to debts, fear of outside world, or no where else to go.
- They always have someone with them or watching them.
